Manisha S.
Private tutor in Moreno Valley, CA
Education
I am currently a Liberal Arts major at Mt. San Jacinto Community College, I've received an Associate Degree is Social and Behavioral Sciences. I am transferring to UCR in Fall 2017 where I will pursue a Bachelor's in Neuroscience. Soon enough I will apply to Medical Schools throughout the U.S.
Experience
I have not had the opportunity to officially tutor my peers, however I have spent my entire school career helping my classmates who were struggling in certain subjects, so in a sense I have always tutored. I want to help students see learning as a fun opportunity and take pride in achieving success in school. I genuinely love the Spanish language, I've taken it twice in middle school and twice in High School with exceptional grades each time. I am not a native speaker but have taught myself out of every Spanish textbook I've come across and thus feel comfortable teaching other students out of their own Spanish textbooks. I would say that I am an upper Intermediate speaker at this point, but my personal goal is to be 100% fluent, therefore I will gladly go above and beyond in Spanish tutoring. My goal is to make sure students understand, not memorize. If I can show you how to find the answer, my work is complete! It may be a bit challenging, but that's what learning is all about.

Hobbies
My motivation comes from reaching out to my community and raising their voices. I'm a very active person both on and off-campus. I volunteer at a Hospital Emergency Room on weekends, mentor my peers as through the Honors Program on campus and set up events in the community via Phi Theta Kappa, the International Honors Society. Tutoring is yet another way for me to make a difference in my community. When I'm not academically involved, I'm usually reading, hiking or traveling! I can't wait to get started as an official tutor!
